Real-world applications demonstrating mRT’s capabilities.

mRT SA acts as a Swiss-based advanced research center for Michelin, combining the power of the Group’s global R&D network with the unique innovation capabilities of Switzerland.

mRT SA is an Advanced Research Center integrated into Michelin’s global Research & Development (R&D) organization, which brings together advanced research, pre‑development, and development activities supporting the Group’s innovation strategy. Michelin’s R&D network includes over 6,000 experts across 9 centers worldwide, including the major Ladoux hub in France with over 2,500 specialists and extensive testing facilities.

We work with a broad range of sectors, including industry, luxury, medical technology, electronics, and sports. If your project involves designing or producing innovative physical or virtual objects, we’re ready to support you.

We also collaborate with schools by sponsoring thesis projects and have a strong track record of working with laboratories, technology centers, and small to medium‑sized enterprises.

mRT offers a unique mix of technical excellence, strong values, and great quality of life. Our work involves advanced manufacturing processes that require precision and mastery across every production step, creating a stimulating environment for learning and innovation.

We also follow Michelin’s People–Profit–Planet values, contributing to environmentally meaningful projects and fostering a supportive workplace culture.

Daily life at mRT is enjoyable thanks to facilities like a ping‑pong table, pétanque area, baby‑foot, and outdoor workspace. And with immediate access to biking, running, mountain trails, climbing, and fitness, plus the vibrant city of Fribourg nearby, employees enjoy an exceptional work–life balance.

Yes. mRT SA welcomes interns and apprentices every year, offering around ten internship positions as well as several apprenticeship opportunities. Engineering internships are typically posted on EPFL’s website, and the minimum duration is usually five months. Many interns extend their stay to a full year by combining an initial internship with an industrial master’s thesis. Common fields include materials science, mechanics, IoT, robotics, vision systems, and data engineering.

We value curiosity, creativity, hands‑on mindset, and a strong desire to learn.
